5. Sex, Drugs a Church Songs (feat. Gianna Castellano)

Gianna Castellano joins Rachel on the couch to discuss the role of religion in college life.   The ladies start off the episode with some introductions and our h.e.r. reflections (happy, excited, realization).   Then at minute 14, they dive into Fordham campus culture.   At 19:15, Rachel introduces a brand new segment: Xs a Os (Church Boy Edition).   Minute 25 kicks off some Ash Wednesday anecdotes from the ladies (St. Patrick's Cathedral, puking at mass, etc.). At minute 30, they chat about the Catholic comfort zone (and whether or not it's limiting to the coming-of-age experience).   By 33:09, the ladies discuss the dichotomies of weekend campus culture: partying a praying beside the same people every weekend. 33:10 brings the long-awaited hookup culture discussion: how sex and relationships can be/are filtered through a religious lens. At minute 43, the girls dive into their NYC environment and the liberal bias of certain academic programs, particularly for our demographic. Finally, before wrapping up, Rach a G recite some prayers (totally unplanned) and discuss Christian selflessness versus college-life self-care (45:50).  As always, thanks for listening to the Blogcast!
