LIAM 032 – A Morning Routine Could Be the Miracle You Need!

Creating a morning routine as a habit of personal growth and develop could be the miracle you need. I know that developing and practicing my morning routine every morning over the past few years has completely changed my life and I attribute much of my success to this habit. But don't take my word for it, best-selling author, coach, and speaker, Hal Elrod, wrote about how his morning routine changed his life in his life-changing book: The Miracle Morning. Show outline: Do you have goals and dreams about living a better life, having better relationships? Good! What are you doing to develop yourself into the kind of person who can create/attract those things? Quick prayer/meditation: Give me the ears to hear, the eyes to see, and a mind that is open to the information and opportunities I'll encounter today that will help me get closer to becoming the person I want to be. Susan Stynes, my book-buddy, asked if I had read The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod I had not, but I downloaded it and listened immediately I laughed and smiled throughout the book because this kid stole all of my material!!! While our routines are somewhat different, the concept is the same and I, also, attribute my morning routine to being one of the biggest influences to the changes I've made in my life over the past several years. The way you start your day frames the way the rest of your day will go. If you just get up and get rolling without plan other than same old routine, that's how your day, your life will go It's all about setting intentions and living intentionally My morning routine: Alarm at 5:15 if not already awake Stand, stretch, say "Thank you, God, for Everything! Absolutely everything! I have no complaints whatsoever!" Feed my cats, pour my cup of coffee to let it cool Drink a glass of water Box Breathing - sitting on the floor in my den, 2-3 minutes to just quiet the mind Concentrate on my belly - imagine inhaling/exhaling is all through bellybutton Breathe in through nose for 5 seconds Hold 5 seconds Breathe out through mouth for 5 seconds Hold 5 seconds Repeat 5 times Exercise Do stretches for a few minutes Do push ups, sit ups, squats, bicycle crunches Sit in front of computer with my vision-board photos on the screen saver Read through my affirmation statements and life-goals Focus on the feelings of each affirmation The feelings of having achieved the goals Gratitude/Joy for the reality of each affirmation/goal Journal Morning Journal First thoughts, feelings, desires of the day. Send love to someone - I don't write this, just think, feel, visualize, send A future someone - my boys future wives, etc Gratitude - at least 5 things Evening Journal Recap the day with new thoughts, feelings events Add to the gratitude list Record victories/successes/LOA confirmations Things I'm looking forward to tomorrow What I want to dream about tonight Read 3-5 pages of spiritual book. Review what's on my schedule and what I want to accomplish for the day Make breakfast for boys and get them off to school Go running on alternate days I just don't have time to do this in the morning We all have 24hrs. It's about priorities and what's important Seth Godin - I don't have time really means it wasn't important enough If there was a medicine you had to take to save your life, but you had to get up 30 minutes earlier than usual to take it, would you? I'm not a morning person The kind of person you are is about the story you tell yourself If you say "I'm going to be so tired tomorrow if I get up early" you will be! Doesn't have to be in the morning as long as you do it and develop the habit of framing your do so it goes the way you want it.
