Helping Students to Deal with the Death of their Patient
Debriefing is a critical component of simulation. This podcast presents strategies that nurse educators can use to help students deal with the death of their patient in a simulated learning experience. Debriefing allows students to share their feelings about the scenario to avoid being emotionally traumatized by the death experience. The faculty member’s caring presence guides the debriefing process to promote critical thinking with the learning experience.
