SOLID ANKLE CUSHION HEEL (SACH) •A solid ankle joint has a keel that is made of either wood or metal, creating a rigid interior to the foot. •A cushioned heel creates a wedge-shaped shock absorber at the posterior portion of the foot.  The cushioning can be variable in size and softness. •A rubber toe portion allows the toes to hyperextend during the terminal stance phase of gait and provides energy storage to advance the limb forward.
