OPS #15: Anime Log:Is YouTube the future of FREE anime?

Toei Animation, Kadokawa, along with other big names in animation, are teaming up to provide 3,000 anime titles to Japanese, Chinese, and English audiences by 2022. In this episode, we voice our concerns and our hopes for this ambitious YouTube channel, such as if it will curb the growing desire to torrent or otherwise illegally view anime, and how it could potentially affect big streaming platforms like Crunchyroll and Funimation, potentially revoking streaming rights for successful anime like DragonBall, Code Geass, One Piece, etc. Do you think this YouTube channel will live up to it's hype, or will our dreams of free anime be crushed by greed? Tune in to hear our thoughts, and as always, thanks for listening!
