Aaron spent six years as an Aviation Electrician/Avionics Technician in the Marine Corps working on several models of the McDonnell Douglas A-4. He obtained his PPL while stationed in Hawaii but found it hard to afford aircraft rental after becoming a broke college student studying Aviation Management at Southern Illinois University. After starting a contract embroidery business while in college and a family soon after, aviation was sidelined. Twenty-seven years later, Aaron still owns Thread FX and also works as the Business Manager for the Southern Illinois University Aviation Program. With a son serving in the Air Force and a daughter in college studying to become a nurse, the opportunity to get back into the air became a realistic goal. After a slow start, Aaron has been flying at every opportunity and is eager to learn and become a better pilot with each flight.
