Balcones Texas High Plains Single Malt Quick live review of this one of a kind single malt. Barley does not grow well in Texas, and malting of grain is not a common industry in Texas. The good people over at Balcones worked with a farmer in Texas to grow some barley that could be malted by a Texas company, and now we have the first ever ALL TEXAS malted barley whiskey.
