Organic Weed Control, Tips for Beginning Gardeners, Tomatoes Cracking, a Eggshells in the Garden

Starting a garden can seem daunting, there's so much you need to know and so much to learn. In this episode I break down the basics for starting a garden and how it all depends on executing the foundations exceptionally well. I also talk about the benefits of eggshells in the garden and how they can help prevent tomatoes from cracking or developing blossom end rot (the black spots on the bottom of tomatoes, caused by a calcium deficiency) ????. Not only is calcium important, but so are things like silica, copper a other micronutrients and microbes that help make them available for uptake by the plants. I wrap this episode up talking about overseeding your lawn for winter - not something I'm an expert on, but I'm getting more interested in lawncare so I'll be diving into more on that as I learn ???? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/gardening4gains/support
