1. Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen

Love it or hate it, Cohen's "Hallelujah" is a logical choice to debut a podcast on the meaning of lyrics. If you're my age, you heard it for the first time in Shrek, but who coulda thunk then what depths the song held? We go line-by-line to unravel the mysteries within. I do not of course own any rights to the song and am using it purely for educational purposes. Support the works of Cohen and the many musicians who have reimagined his music. In this episode, I read Psalm 6 from an NIV bible. The story of David and Bathsheba can be found in 2 Samuel 11:1 - 12:25. The entire life of David is best read starting in 1 Samuel 1 and ending in 1 Kings 2. There are many versions of this song, but most consider Buckley's the most endearing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01689A8VC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_F5RdEb03BGM6S Or listen to Cohen's original version: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00136NIPO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_l8RdEb79QV326 Please spread word about the podcast and hit me with arguments and suggestions anytime at deepdivelyrics.crow@gmail.com
