Ray Connolly is a British Writer.He is best known for his journalism and for writing the screenplays for the films That'll Be The Day and its sequel Stardust, for which he won a Writers Guild of Great Britain Best Screenplay award He wrote for the London Evening Standard where he interviewed many 60's and 70's Rock Stars and cultural icons,including The Beatles, Muhammad Ali and Elvis Presley In this episode we discuss him becoming an Elvis fan in 1956 and his subsequent meeting with Elvis in Las Vegas in his hotel suite during his triumphant return to live performances in the Summer of 1969 He is the author of the best selling books Being Elvis:A Lonely Life Sorry Boys,You Failed The Audition Being John Lennon-A Restless Life The Ray Connolly Beatles Archive
