Up to bat this week is Mutant Academy producer Tuamie who knew he wanted to do something creative with his life from a young age. In episode 15 of the podcast, he shares his music-making journey, how DJ Premier and Pete Rock inspired him, and his plans to release volume after volume (all the way up to vol. 10!) of Emergency Raps, a series he started with Mutant Academy's four core rappers. Opening this episode, I play a sample from his latest tape, where Fly Anakin exclaims he has the best beat selection in the underground. As heard in this interview, Tuamie stresses the point that he knows exactly what he wants out of the rappers he selectively chooses to grace his beats.
