The tone is the rudder, meaning the direction of your body is determined by your tone. You have to watch the way your inner voice speaks to you. We are our own worst critics. We have such high expectations of ourselves, which is fine. But why do you talk to yourself in such a harsh way that you know you would hurt your friend if you spoke as such? Even if they sucked, you would encourage them, highlighting the positives.
