The Crude Report: The changing role of St James

St James, Louisiana, was once the gateway for imported and domestic crude into midcontinent markets. However, as shale production, pipeline reversals and legislation have changed to allow US crude exports, the role of the old hub has changed.

St James still has extensive blending operations with service to major US Gulf coast refining capacity, but it is now set to better compete in the US export market.
