SPF 029: The Purpose & Blessing of Church

Why is church important? Is it even necessary with sermons readily available through the internet. Isn’t church wherever two or three gather together? Church is part of God’s plan of administering grace and bringing Himself glory. Today we are talking about the purpose of church and 4 problems that might keep us from committing.

Purposes of Church

(boiled down to two, by yours truly)

  1. To Glorify God and advance His Kingdom
  2. We are not meant to live the Christian life alone

Common Problems we have with Church

  1. We make church about us (and our preferences) instead of about God
  2. We despise authority and we do not believe pastors are shepherds for our souls
  3. We have plenty of access to good preaching and spiritual material so we "don't need" church
  4. We are a part of the global church so we don't need a local gathering

What can we do to grow?

  1. Find a church and be the best church members.
  2. Explore the scriptures about your role in the body
  3. If you don’t have “great” churches, find the one that is the most bible-centered and bet the best church members.
  4. Remember it’s not about you.

What you'll need:

Here's what you do:

  • Drop 15 - 20 drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract in bottle
  • Add 2-3 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
  • Fill up with water and give it a good shake

Carry it around with you and spray away after playground and museum trips, before eating snacks, and even spray on grocery carts or restaurant tables (I'm that mom).
