Companies controlling Your Personal Social Media

Special Guest - Sam Boggs - HR background out of US Bank and JD out of University of Minnesota Law School. Sam brings a great perspective and insight on what companies can and cannot do when it comes to Social Media.
Companies have a lot of power.  While some states are trying to put laws in place to protect the employee, for now companies can control a lot of what you post.

·       Social Media general overview
·       Posts where the employer is directly connected to the person posting
·       Gray areas around how the post effects the employer
·       Posts where there is no connection to an employer
·       Communications and Posts which are protected
·       Posts protections related to whistle blowing, company environment, and complaints made by many employees via social media
·       Consistent discipline across the company
·       Writing a new social medial policy
·       Right to Work or At Will Employment
·       When an employee offends another employee through posts outside of work
