Episode 5: The Hole In One

One of the less-discussed sports in the climate conversation is golf.  But the potential  effects  oof climate change on the sport long term are huge.  Perhaps we just don't know it yet.   IIn the UK, all the "Open Championship " courses hug the coastline where erosion is a rapidly increasing concern.  This special report from Montrose, on the east coast of Scotland, illustrates the severity and urgency of this.  John Adams, from Montrose Golf Links, takes host Jonathan Overend on a guided tour of the endangered holes.  Thankfully, the sport's governing body, The RaA, is proactive and keen to broaden the conversation; alive to impacts, open to solutions.   Hear Sustainability Director Steve Isaac outline golf's positive message in the sustainability space and a warning for clubs if they don't take this seriously.  "Chipping away, year by year, day by day, putting at risk institutions we play..."
