10: Chirag Suri on a changing cricket landscape, IPL and more
Chirag Suri made history in 2017 when he became the first UAE player to be selected to the Indian Premier League. And his career has only taken off since, as he's currently busy with domestic and national team duties, including the T10 League, which begins in Sharjah this month. Suri discusses his emergence as an established member of the UAE cricket scene with The National's Paul Radley in this week's episode of The Cricket Pod. What does Suri think of the fast-paced T10 format, and how has his life changed since becoming a full-time cricketer? Also in this episode, Paul and Jon Turner discuss the Pakistan-New Zealand ODI series, which met a soggy end this week when the UAE saw rare inclement weather. The country is typically a safe haven for good weather-seeking cricket clubs and nations, but that was not the case for this particular series. We also look ahead to the UAE's ongoing bounty of cricket action, including a Test series between the same Pakistan and New Zealand sides, and a bevy of other tournaments.
