Beer Mug Thrown at Indian Comedian.

Last weekend two corporate dudes tried to assault a comedian performing in front of 100 people. They didn't like the joke which was about pedophiles (and lets even assume it was a very bad joke) and one of them threw a heavy 1KG beer mug that missed the comics head and shattered against the wall. The other accomplice was a tech CEO of a startup which has funding here in Bangalore. Is this ok?
