Addictive design is a real thing. Companies even go so far as to hire scientists to design habit forming behaviors. The debate between habit forming behaviors and addictive UX at this point is merely semantics, and we need to start drawing a line in the sand. It's time designers stand for ethical design that bolsters meaningful interactions--instead of hooking users with premeditated tactics.
