Victor Vazquez joins Footy Talks Weekly

Episode Notes: Barcelona was in the backstory and also in the background (for Stevie) as Victor pinpointed playing at the Nou Camp as the basis for his cool head under pressure, and also argued that the TFC squad he was part of had the quality to play ‘the Barca way’.

Victor spoke about his favorite TFC goal, a cheeky under the wall freekick in the 5-0 mauling of  Columbus Crew; and his favorite pass, feeding Jozy Altidore in the 2017 play off final.

He spoke honestly about his reasons for leaving Toronto, and how he now regrets the move: ‘Only two times in my career did I think about money. One time going from Brugge to Mexico - mistake. And one time from TFC to Qatar - and I think another mistake.’

The team discussed how that ‘mistake’ may have been based on fears of limited playing time after a serious back injury kept Victor on the sidelines for much of the 2018 season, and how renewed health means his sights are set back on the MLS.
