Attention with Intention

Revisiting the book “Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience” by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, this week we talk about the opposite of consciousness and how you can tell when there is a need for internal organization. Notice when you feel the need to control and organize things that are outside of your control.

The more we try to impose our will on these things, the more frustrated we become and the more internal disorder we experience. This works both ways. The more unstable our internal foundation is, the more we feel a need to control the external world around us. And when it doesn’t comply, the internal ground gets a little shakier. Check out this episode for a simple tool you can use to bring order to the information you are paying attention to!
