In this lecture Ustaadh continues the series of lectures on The Principles in the Purification of the Soul. The second principle is du'aa. Du'aa is the key to the purification of the hearts & souls. It is from the best forms of worship because in du'aa a person shows their great need for Allsah, their hearts are broken, they humble themselves, they turn to Allaah with the knowledge that He has the power and ability to help them. They realise how poor they are and how much Allaah has to give. Du'aa has a great affect on the hearts & souls of a person, it opens the doors of goodness for a person. Allaah has promised to respond and answer those who turn to Him. He says: "And your Lord said: "Invoke Me, [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islamic Monotheism)] (and ask Me for anything) I will respond to your (invocation). " - Surah Ghafir [40:60] - Al-Qur'an
