How will COVID affect this year’s Oscars?

On Sunday evening in the US, Monday morning Australian time, the 93rd Academy Awards will get underway. This year’s Oscars come as America’s film industry wrestles with the continuing effects of the pandemic which delayed movie releases and shut cinemas. Many of the best-picture nominees aren’t as high-profile as previous years with some released onto streaming services.
