The Fight Against Conversion Therapy in Canada

Conversion therapy is the pseudoscientific practice of trying to change a person's sexual orientation or gender identity, a practice that has been widely criticized and dubunked. A few provinces and communities across the country have restricted conversion therapy, and the federal government is proposing a ban. But a growing movement in Canada called “One Accord” is pushing against the ban and other policies that they see as eroding their religious freedoms. Host Tamara Khandaker talks to politics reporter Rachel Browne of Global News about conversion therapy in Canada, what it looks like now, and the line between LGBTQ rights and religious freedom.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
