Want fresh eggs straight from your backyard?

Chickens/Mornington Peninsula /Lifestyle/Property
There’s nothing like fresh home-grown eggs.
If you’ve ever considered setting up your own Chicken Coop at home, this episode of the podcast is for you.
Christine from Suburban Chooks is an expert on all things chooks and chicken coops. She takes us through the why, the how and the how much of setting up your own coop.
Christine also gave a super confused Jo a quick biology lesson (think ‘where do babies come from’ style).
Plus return guest Sam Keats shares her recent experience building her own backyard coop from a novice’s perspective.
Christine Dinas is the owner of Suburban Chooks in Melbourne. Christine discovered her passion for chickens in 2007 after her two year old daughter told her that eggs come from the supermarket.
In 2009 Christine and her husband registered Suburban Chooks as they were hatching fertile eggs from their two roosters and six pullets. It was so much fun they wanted to share the passion for chickens and have been doing so ever since.
They currently sell poultry supplies and equipment which they sell Australia-wide and are getting back into selling chickens for backyard pets and egg layers soon.
