1. The much-anticipated Union Cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place on July 8, say sources on Tuesday. The buzz that was going on for quite some time intensified after a series of meetings between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda in the national capital. Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's widely-anticipated cabinet expansion, many probable ministers headed to Delhi on Tuesday. Some had already arrived Monday evening. Jyotiraditya Scindia took a flight to Delhi from Indore and Janata Dal leader CP Singh also reached Delhi on Tuesday morning, according to sources. On Tuesday morning, PM Modi's meeting with top ministers and BJP chief JP Nadda, scheduled for 5 pm, was cancelled. Many saw it as a clear sign that cabinet changes would soon be announced. 2. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announces the launch of a social security scheme and a portal to provide financial assistance to families who lost their kin to coronavirus. Under the ‘Mukhyamantri COVID-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana', Rs 50,000 ex gratia will be given to every family that lost a member to covid-19 and an additional Rs 2,500 per month will be given if the deceased was the sole breadwinner.
