Among today’s readings, first in the Acts of the Apostles Paul's life comes to a very sharp point in Jerusalem he's being accused of various things and brought before the Roman officials charged with various offences by the Jewish authorities. The same thing is true in John's gospel too because this is the intimate exchange between Jesus and his followers in the last hours of Jesus life.
