Guru Ashtakam

The Guru Ashtakam (“Eight Verses for the Guru”) was composed by the eighth-century Hindu philosopher Adi Shankara. It speaks of the importance of our Guru in our life and spiritual journey. Without reverence to the Guru, all our achievements are useless, according to it. Spiritual gains are possible only when we surrender to the Guru completely. Those who recites the Guru Ashtakam and remain devoted to the Guru’s teachings will be able to attain Brahman. Those who fail to get the results of their hard labour can recite the Guru Ashtakam to overcome their problems.
