A state prison in Marion Ohio has the largest cluster of cases in the U.S. with over 1900 inmates and employees testing positive. New York State will start a widespread antibody testing program to see what percentage of the population has had the virus. 3,000 residents will be randomly selected to see if they have immunity. Indiana will extend their stay at home order through the 1st. While many other states are relaxing restrictions. Georgia will allow some non-essential businesses to open as early as Friday. The Governor acknowledged cases will likely go up, but feels the state is prepared for the increase. South Carolina has opened beaches and some non-essential businesses. Tennessee will reopen business on May 1st. Pennsylvania will begin loosening restrictions on the 8th. Global cases are closing in on 2.5 million. US, Mexico and Canada will extend travel restrictions for another 30 days. Singapore has extended restrictions through June 1st. The Indian Medical Association, is asking for a law to protect healthcare workers from violence, noting “doctors have been abused, beaten up, denied entry and residence." A driver for the WHO was killed in Myanmar while transporting COVID-19 test samples, reports The Washington Post. A Doctors’ Association survey in the UK shows many are lacking needed Personal Protective Equipment. Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany has been cancelled.
