Richie Laryea and Janusz Michallik join Footy Talks Live
With a lockout avoided at the eleventh hour, and a new CBA ratified through to 2025, Luke, KJ and Stevie discussed the upcoming tournament in Florida that will finally get the MLS back underway.
WIth $1 million dollars in prize money at stake, the gang break down how the competition could play out, with KJ in particular hoping it's not ‘a mickey mouse mid-season tournament.' No pun intended - apparently...
Toronto FC’s Richie Laryea shared his experience of lockdown life, and also gave his views on the anti-racist demonstrations taking place around the globe. The gang asked Richie what footy fans and organizations can do to take a better stand against racism, and the team praised Richie’s recent tweet which eloquently, and courageously, sought to raise awareness on this important issue.
The gang were also joined by ESPN’s Janusz Michallik who talked about his thirty years in US soccer, and how the many short lived leagues he played in finally led to the MLS we know today. Janusz gave his views on the upcoming Florida tournament and broke down the qualities that are taking Canadian starlet Alphonso Davies to the next level at Bayern Munich.
