Season 2 | Ep 4 | The Legend of Marianna - An Argentinian Legend

As I watched Lionel Messi lift the FIFA World Cup after 36 years, I couldn’t help but think of the stories that he grew up listening to!

Did the stories of his childhood shape him to be the player he is?

I realised that I don’t have an Argentinian Story and so I went looking for one. And this is the ONE that instantly spoke to me.

The Legend of Marianna, her stories and golden nuggets reminded me of the importance of a storyteller in our communities. It reminded me that each one of us has a repository of stories and unless we gather, document and archive them they will be lost for ever.

What are you doing about your family stories?

Do you make an attempt to document your personal stories?

How are you archiving your organisational history?

This holiday season, gather up to share stories with one another. Find the Marianna in your home, your community, your organisation. Or become the Marianna for a day...

Do you think Lionel Messi heard The Legend of Marianna as a child? I wouldn't know...

But as you listen to this story, tell me which are the stories that shaped you to be who you are today? You can tell me that, right? I'd love to know!
