S1 Episode 6: Shivendra Singh Dungarpur

My chat with Shivendra Singh Dungarpur about film preservation and film restoration. We chatted about preservation and how restoration also entails keeping the filmmaker’s original intent intact.  We also spoke about Muzaffar Ali’s Zoonie; the recent restoration of Kubrick’s masterpiece, 2001: A space Odyssey; the first Bengali silent film, Bilwamangal; and Peter Jackson’s They Shall Not Grow Old.  Dungarpur also touched on his unfinished film, Ittefaq. For which he had assembled an enviable crew, comprising  Rahman, Gulzar, Sriram Raghavan, Karan Bali and Sharmishta Roy.  And.. of course, I asked him about the wonderful documentary, Celluloid Man.Please do consider making a donation to the Film Heritage Foundation at: https://filmheritagefoundation.co.in/donate/Feedback/comments/questions: loveofcinemasf@gmail.comCredits:Concept, script: Himanshu (@loveofcinemasf8)Host: Himanshu Editor: Devika JoglekarMusic: Nakul AbhyankarCopyrights © Love of Cinema 2019 Support the show (https://www.paypal.me/LoveOfCinema)
