Episode 001: New Jersey Legalizes Sports Betting at the State Level, Patrick Everson, Sr. staff writer Covers.com, Stu Feiner
Chris Rodgers (@thewagerpager) and Mercedes Barba (@mercedesbianca), a sports betting couple from Jersey City, discuss the recent Supreme Court ruling that struck down the 1992 PASPA law, which outlawed sports gambling at the state level. Sports betting is now legal in New Jersey and Delaware, with legalization in a handful of other states on the horizon.
Chris and Mercedes report from Monmouth Park Race Track in Oceanport, New Jersey for the opening of the William Hill Sportsbook, and are joined by notorious sports handicapper Stu Feiner (@stusource) to get his take on what legalization means to an industry veteran.
Also, Chris sits down with Patrick Everson (Covers_Vegas), senior staff writer at Covers.com, to discuss the legalization of sports gambling and its impact on Las Vegas.
Mercedes and Chris outline the concept of their show moving towards football season, and of course tell some sports betting war stories. Get pumped, get psyched! It's The Wager Pager Podcast.
