#131 Dr. Travis Thomas Interview & Reminiscing with Jackson
On today’s show Mark interviews Dr. Travis Thomas, Assistant Professor of Clinical and Sports Nutrition at the University of Kentucky (18:36). Then it’s another Humans Being Human segment with the third member of the Three Horsemen, Jackson (54:16). They wrap up with the Simply Human Tip of the Week which is -- get out of your comfort zone (1:10:19).
They talk to Travis about Chris Johnson, lactation lab, strength coaching, juice vs. dairy in adolescents, dietary nitrate, preventing injury, female athlete triad, energy availability (EA), raw milk, protein, the three T’s (type, timing, total for the day), whey vs. casein, recovery, Dr. Thomas’s recommendations, an equal distribution of protein, peeing beet juice, saturated fat and carbs, too much protein, meditation, and hanging out with kids.
Before Mark talks to Dr. Thomas, Mark and Rick discuss Rick’s air conditioning and being thoughtful. The Tip of the Week is preceded by talk of a naked restaurant in Japan that won’t serve obese people.
