Michael Mann's 1995 crime epic HEAT minute by minute. Host Blake Howard is
joined by academic, writer and proper Mann aficionado Anna Dzenis. Anna
took time out of lecturing at La Trobe University in Melbourne to discuss
the formal techniques Mann uses to contrast the interior and exterior
experience of watching this crew work. Anna and Blake also discuss the
characteristic blend of documentary realism and stylisation in Michael
Mann's work.
