EP 08: What it Takes to Get Your Film on Amazon and Netflix with Documentary Filmmaker Nathan Agin

In this episode of Podcast More Life, I welcome documentary filmmaker Nathan Agin to discuss his most recent project, the Food Truck Documentary and how he's been able to get it on Amazon. The Food Truck Documentary is a short documentary that Nathan has been producing and directing in Orlando, Florida for the past few months. Additionally, I was personally brought on board to DP the project. In this podcast, we examine the documentary as a whole looking at the positives and negatives. Moreover, Nathan and I share what we thought some of the biggest challenges were and how we were able to overcome those as a team. Nathan and I also go pretty heavy into the pre-production process as well as the post-production and how important they are to having a successful documentary film as well as a legal one. Navigating legalities and copyrights can be difficult so this podcast is a great listen for introducing how to effectively score your film and make sure you aren't breaking any copyright laws. Moreover, in this podcast, we compare working on this film to commercials, music videos, and our past experience to open up dialogue on how documentary filmmaking is vastly different and more challenging than fictional work at times. Join us as we examine documentary filmmaking and getting films on Amazon and/or Netflix.
