Shirin Neshat
Described as a ‘rock star’ of the art world on account of her many devoted fans, distinctive style and rebellious attitude, the Iranian-born, New York-dwelling artist, whose work in photography and film over the past 30 years has addressed questions of identity and displacement, female subjugation and the tension between reality and dreams, talks to host Danielle Radojcin at Frieze Los Angeles. She discusses her love of film, her thoughts on Iran and feminism, her ambivalence about positive discrimination in art in the wake of the #MeToo movement and her new upcoming film project, as well as her favourite spot to eat Iranian food in New York.
