Stephen Jones
The renowned British milliner visits 5 Carlos Place to chat to Danielle Radojcin. His creations, which stretch previously unbroken limits of imagination and beauty and come with an added dash of British whimsy, have adorned the heads of Princess Diana, Meghan Markle and Mick Jagger, with his runway pieces made for everyone from John Galliano and Marc Jacobs to Rihanna and Grace Wales Bonner. He has also co-curated an exhibition on hats at the Victoria a Albert Museum in London, featuring pieces from the museum's archives, and in 2019 he was commissioned by the Costume Institute in New York to create head treatments for the exhibition ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’. As well as his work and inspirations, he talks about how he started out at Central Saint Martins and was an Eighties Blitz kid, hanging out with Sade, Leigh Bowery and Boy George, before setting up shop in Covent Garden, where he still operates today.
