New Hollywood: The Rise And Successes

In this first part of a two part Cine-Lit podcast, Adam and Rebekah are joined by new regular contributor Film Historian Darrell Buxton.

Together they tackle the New Hollywood movement that took over Hollywood in the late '60s, the 1970s and the early '80s. This wide-ranging discussion incorporates the beginnings of the movement with films like Easy Rider and Bonnie And Clyde, through to the major successes, both critically and commercially, of films like The Godfather and The Exorcist.

Plus, they discuss the key movers and shakers in this period, including the likes of Dennis Hopper, Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, the independent film production and distribution company American International Pictures (AIP), Robert Evans, Roger Corman and more.
