Photographer who was pepper-sprayed by police speaks out

Anti-lockdown protests turned violent in Melbourne at the weekend when police clashes with more than 700 protesters on the streets of Richmond in the inner city. More than 230 people were arrested and ten police officers injured as the initially peaceful march devolved into violent clashes, with projectiles thrown at officers and OC spray deployed. The Age’s photographer Luis Ascui was sprayed directly in the eyes while photographing the rally on Saturday afternoon despite identifying himself as a member of the media. Today on Please Explain, Ascui joins Nathanael Cooper to examine what happened during the incident.
