Mobile Health Innovation by UnitedHealth Group Pharmacy Podcast Episode 261

UnitedHealth Baby Blocks Building a Healthy Future for Moms and Babies We interview Dr. Vidya Tangella - Head of Innovation Center of Excellence at UnitedHealth Group about the digital health application Baby Blocks. There are approximately 1.6 million babies born each year in the United States who are dependent upon Medicaid, and UnitedHealth Group is committed to doing everything possible to ensure newborns receive access to the best care possible. As a result, the company created UnitedHealthcare Baby Blocks, a free, online, interactive incentive program designed to help pregnant women and new mothers with prenatal and well-baby care. UnitedHealthcare Baby Blocks rewards women for visiting the doctor and reporting the information online during their pregnancy and their baby's first 15 months of life. Once women sign up for Baby Blocks, they can access an interactive board that shows their prenatal visits, along with opportunities to earn rewards for following a prenatal visit schedule. Using a game-like interface, moms can track appointments and receive email appointment reminders, as well as rewards for keeping the appointments. Rewards include gift cards for prenatal items and baby clothing, diaper bags and more. Through its Medicaid business, UnitedHealthcare offers health care coverage to more than 2 million children. Coverage, which varies by state, typically includes doctor visits, hospital care, immunizations, routine physical exams and prescription drug coverage. https://www.uhcbabyblocks.com/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
