Welcome to the Outerfocus Podcast!

Joining us today is Texas based photographer Kym Skiles. After re-entering education attending community college and The Texas Women’s University in her 30’s Kym found her passion for photography. After gaining a deep understanding and foundation in the technical side of photography, her mentor urged her to explore her creative side deeper. We hear more about Kym’s journey, including why she prefers being a second shooter at weddings, as well as the podcast she co-hosts named Vinyl Junkies. We also go a little off track with some interesting discussion on music!

Taking a look back at history we focus on Eadweard Muybridge this week. We discuss how this English photographer known particular for his motion photography of humans and animals, who was once a book seller, endured a handful of life changing events including serious injury and a murder charge. We look deeper into these events and explore their relevance to the work and processes he is still renowned for today.
