Recent years have seen increasing prevalence of cardiovascular disease in women and especially women of color. Unfortunate disparities exist in recognition, optimization of risk factors, and management approaches for women. Dr Bond discusses the atypical presentations seen among women and the need for improved screening, specific diagnostic testing, management of risk factors, and improved management strategies.
