19: Joseph McMoneagle and the Stargate Project

Joseph McMoneagle was among one of the first to be recruited for a classified project called the Stargate. Stargate has since been declassified, revealing that in 1978 a secret unit was established at Fort Meade, Maryland by the Defense Intelligence Agency and Stanford Research Institute International to investigate the potential for psychic phenomena in military and domestic intelligence applications. Stargate was the inspiration for the movie The Men Who Stair at Goats. Joe McMoneagle was a Chief Warrant Officer who was known for being extra lucky in Vietnam. Always knowing where land mines were and when incoming artillery fire was imminent. He was serving internationally for U.S. Army Intelligence when recruited into Stargate and he retired as one of the program's most decorated and successful remote viewers. This is his story.
