BEANPOLE - Kantemir Balagov

In this episode, Film Forum Presents a QaA with Kantemir Balagov, the astonishingly talented filmmaker of BEANPOLE, following a sneak preview of his film on January 2, 2020. BEANPOLE, Russia’s official submission to the 2020 Oscars for Best International Feature, is a visually stunning and emotionally resonant drama of two young women piecing their lives back together in decimated post-World War II Leningrad. The QaA was moderated by Nathaniel Rogers, founder of The Film Experience web site. Balagov’s interpreter was Sasha Korbut. BEANPOLE is now available for rent in our virtual cinema at www.filmforum.org. Rental fees support Film Forum. Photo by Anthony Fairall (Balagov in center).
