Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger announced it will elevate its small foundry business to become a standalone business within Intel called Intel Foundry Services led by Randhir Thakur. Unlike previous efforts, IFS will offer SoCs with not only x86, but Arm, and RISC-V cores, and use industry standard design tools this time, making it easier to work with for third parties.
