With John Galliano Maison Margiela AW19 'Artisanal' Co-ed Show In the latest chapter of his podcast series, Maison Margiela’s Creative Director John Galliano further explores the theme of decadence. Reflecting on today’s culture of excess and the degeneration of social structures, he ponders on one’s need to reconnect and rely on one’s instinct. He talks about the language of consumerism and how it plays on our fetishistic impulse and, as a result, throughout his creative process. Projective filtrage, a new Artisanal technique, is developed to enhance the clichés of couture. Starting from his explorations of nomadic cutting, Mr. Galliano evolves his creative language with dresses and through new tailoring techniques.
