Yusuf brings us a few different things to detail what he has going on. Before we got started we took it back to his childhood and talked about his early life. When we met earlier in life I knew Yusuf as Lil Phillip and young cool brother from around the way. Yusuf upbringing was different from what we knew and as you listen to this episode you will begin to understand. For many black males growing up you face many obstacles and cycles. After living in Radcliff, Yusuf would return back to Louisville where he is originally from. While there he would go on to get caught up in the criminal justice system going back and for to jail. During those times Phillip would pick up Islam and later change his name to Yusuf. During his bid Yusuf would become the Imam for the various Muslim based faith religions. Upon his release Yusuf would go on to create Amalgamated Order where he would host various events at New Legacy in Louisville, KY. Yusuf would later pen his first book “Money Behind the Dreams” covering his Urban Community Relations Coalition Firm where they leverage the collective intelligence, professional networks, contacts and resources of fellow members in completely confidential workshop sessions while accounting for progress made on key goals. Yusuf later talks about his new curriculum Kocoon. Kocoon is the revival and renewed skills and competency training under the influence of our Street Indigenous Model in the New Economy. The Kocoon Digital Apprenticeship Academy promotes community growth, connect students to employers, assist employers, develop digital educational programs, etc.
