Episode 8 Ft. Mr. Nova

On Episode 8: ACTiON I have the longtime homie Cecil Kirby aka Mr. Nova on the show with me. Mr. Nova and I go way back to our college days at Western Kentucky University where I would see him on campus with his headphones on, music up writing rhymes and also making beats. We talk about growing up in the West End of Louisville, growing up hearing his mother singing in church and Nova getting his first solo at church, and how when his cousin popped in a Ras Kass tape how it inspired his pen. Nova details how his friend and fellow rapper Amore the King helped him sharpen his pen game growing up during his early years of rapping. We talk about how years  later I would hear Nova on the radio with DJ-Efeezy going crazy rapping. Nova talks about his move to Miami, meeting Rico Love and signing to Division 1. He also tells me about pulling the Twerk beat out of the stash for City Girls featuring Cardi B. a record that went crazy all over the charts. Nova gives us a little insight on who he is listening to locally and drops some gems on what some Louisville artists have done in the past.
