#2 Grey Hair is Now Reversible

--Transcript--So gray hair, something we all expect to get when we're in our 30s, or earlier. Something that we consider an inevitable part of the aging process is now reversible. All this thanks to an exciting new technology that just came to market. So today we're doing a skin tech review, and I'll tell you all about it. So I'm gonna tell you something that is going to shock everyone. Everyone's natural hair is actually white in color. Our hair gets its natural color from a pigment that we all produce, and it's called melanin. It's the same thing that our skin produces when we are out in the sun and the skin gets darker. So this melanin is produced at the hair bulb, and it travels up to through the hair stem to actually give you natural hair color, whether it's dark brown, black or it's more blonde or red. Either way you get your natural hair color from melanin, and greying of the hair is genetically programmed. It starts in our 30s. It comes from two things. First we start producing less and less melanin in the hair bulbs and over time we actually lose some of the cells that produce melanin. So your natural hair color starts to grey out. On the other end, we start to accumulate something called hydrogen peroxide, which is a natural byproduct of the oxygen cycle in your hair and natural peroxide is something that many women use to bleach their hair from the outside in. As you accumulate hydrogen peroxide, your hair starts to get bleached from the inside out. So you have sort of a hero, the melanin that helps you get that nice natural hair color that comes when you're young, and you have the villain who is working too on one end. Should those cells that produce melanin and on the other end, bleach your hair from the from the inside out. So this new technology that was developed is actually a peptide that was developed by a company in Canada. And I want to let you in on a little secret in the beauty industry. So all the beauty brands that you see on the shelves in the stores, pretty much none of them do any kind of innovation. All the innovation in the industry comes from another group of companies that you know nothing about. Those are the companies that make all the ingredients. Those are the manufacturers that sit below the brands that all the brands buy from, mix, to put products in nice packaging that we all consume, but that's where all the innovation happens. And that's why I'm really excited to talk to those people on a daily basis to learn about this kind of stuff. So this Canadian company, developed a peptide, and a peptide is basically a protein fragment. It consists of some amino acids, which goes into a serum, a liquid, very liquid thin kind of product that's applied on the scalp of the hair of the head, and it penetrates the hair follicles, and it works to actually reverse grey hair. And we're not talking about dying your hair, we're talking about actually reversing grey hair to restore back the natural color of your hair which is unbelievable. So the first time they talked to me about it, I completely didn't believe it because there's a lot of hocus pocus as we all know in the beauty space, but then I saw the study they did. So they did actually an extensive clinical study. They put people through three months of using this product, and the results were stunning, stunning. On average people saw 30 percent reduction of grey hair. And the top participants actually saw 81 percent reduction of grey hair. I was just floored. And this peptide the way it works, it's on one end kind of like a motivational speaker to our hero, melanin, to keep those cells producing more and more of it so that we get more color into the hair shaft. And on the other end it kicks the pants of our villain, the hydrogen peroxide so we accumulate less and less of it. So we're not getting the hair bleached on the inside out. That's a simplistic version without getting too much into the chemistry, but the process is fascinating. And I want you to think about this. This is first generation technology. Think about your cell phone 10, 20 years ago, when it was a flip phone it didn't have a touch screen and all that stuff. And think about where this technology is going to go over the next 10, 15 years. I'll make a bold prediction and say that this in five to 10 years, this kind of product will be a major category in the beauty space. I would see this in shampoos. I would see it in conditioners. I would see it in hair dyes. I would see it in standalone products that work to reverse. I would see it consumed both as something that's preventative, and I also see it consumed as something that's restorative. I really think this is a major breakthrough so I wanted to share this with you. If you'd like me to do more skin tech reviews, hit me up let me know. I'm happy to review a ton of exciting technologies that are coming to market, or stuff that's in early development but will tremendously change the beauty industry.
